16s stop losing streak with hard fought draw at Dunbar

A pulsating game at Dunbar ended even with both sides sharing the points. Albion came from behind with a wonder strike from Kirkland to end their 3 game losing sequence and head back to Leith with a 1-1 draw. The game however, was not without controversy, and with both sides ending the 90 minutes with 10 men, this encounter was not for the faint hearted. Albion had the mis-fortune to lose key player Laurie Adam with a nasty ankle injury which needed hospital treatment. An update on Laurie's injury will be posted as soon as we have news.

19s game v Spartans OFF AGAIN!

Albion's U19 game vs. Spartans is off again. There's a story behind this fixture that I think needs told?. In order to book a playing slot at their new complex, Spartans keep insisting on fiddling with the kick-off times. They usually tell us its either a 12.30 or a 3.30pm start time. These times are unsuitable for us and we insist on the traditional 2pm. They try for a number of alternative venues i.e. Civil Service Ground - City Park etc, and this week Inverleith. The latter park has barely been playable for weeks, so it was always going to fall prey to any rain. This weeks weather is the best its been for weeks, but low and behold, Inverleith is deemed unplayable. We offered a late alternative to switch the game to the small park at Pilrig, but they don't want to give up home advantage. This is the 4th cancellation in as many weeks. Will this game ever get played?

16s gain unwanted treble at Jewel

Albion's U16s picked up unwanted treble of defeats when they went down 3-0, their 3rd successive defeat, to Edina Hibs at Jewel Park today. The school holiday, and the request from the home side to kick off at 12.30, backfired on Albion as their regular keeper Pawel Sodja was back visiting family in Poland, among other lads on holiday, and a number of "no shows" the squad could only call on 11 players. With an outfield player in goals, the lads were up against it from the start, but credit to them for making the home side work hard for the points. The trip along the coast to Dunbar United next sunday is a 2nd v 3rd clash and the outcome of this challenge will have a significant bearing on Albion's title aspirations.

Albion 19s lose in horror conditions

Albion's 19s lost 3-0 in last nights friendly v Civil Service U21s. Played at Forrester 3G floodlit complex, the weather was a major factor in the outcome. Freezing conditions, driving sleet, torrential rain and even snow, made conditions extremely poor. Albion failed to gain any momentum as they rotated substitutes every 10 minutes, just to keep players warm! Club coaches from both sides were almost hypothermic by full time.
