Ams caught in trap of inconsistency

The Senior Ams level of inconsistency continues to plague their season. Last weeks great result at league contenders, Barca Milton, should have been the perfect platform to ensure a decent run to the end of the season, but yesterdays visit to Newtongrange, undid all last weeks good work. A 4-1 defeat yesterday was a big setback.

Weekend Fixtures

Only one game cast this weekend. The Ams Colts have no fixture, with a free week cast. There could be a few free weeks in the pipeline as the Colts only have 8 fixtures remaining. The Senior Ams have a tough one away to Newtongrange Star 'A'. This league fixture, coming off the back of last weeks great away win at table toppers, Barca Milton, will be the perfect opportunity for the Seniors to overturn the 0-5 defeat suffered by this weeks opponents at Pilrig earlier in the season.

Back to business

Both senior sides were easing into the new year this week with the first training sessions of 2012 taking place. There has been frantic attempts to sign new players for the last leg of the 2011/2012 season and both sides have had mixed success with bringing in new faces. The Senior Ams have added to their squad, with some movement in the other direction. The Ams Colts had earmarked five new targets, with 2 signing on Wednesday, one deciding not to come out of retirement, one still to decide and the other agreeing to sign, in the near future, but with doubts over his fitness. The Colts have also released four players. Will the changes be enough to take both sides to a new level? Time will tell.

Weather wins again

Both parks at Pilrig were declared unplayable today due to surface water and with almost all council parks waterlogged there will be a decimated fixture list on the 7th January.

U7s Mini Colts restart on Friday 13 January 6.30pm - 7.30pm @ Pilmeny Youth Centre

Pitch inspections

The horrendous weather has taken its toll on Pilrig with both parks undergoing almost daily inspections. The constant rainfall this week has left both parks, especially the youth park, very heavy in places. On inspection yesterday both parks were very doubtful.
