Albion and Facebook

The club looked at a variety of options that could enable us to push quick information messages to club members. The mass use of smartphones and mobile information sharing offered us two options. Facebook or Twitter!. We've decided to experiment with Facebook as a medium to connect with club friends. FB also allows us to upload photos and up to the minute information on the go. Good news for U11s

Pilrig Puddle Problems

This mornings pitch inspection was touch and go re deciding to play the match. Two fairly large puddles were present in the far corner of the park and after considering some remedial work it was quickly assessed that it would be a lost cause. With 90% of park in perfect condition the seniors will use the area this afternoon for a full coaching session from 2pm.

Albion Junior U11s soccer sevens squad were due to head out of Leith to visit Gorebridge on Sunday morning, but as with everywhere else in the Lothian area, rain has left the home park waterlogged. The but in our heading is that the U11s coaching team are trying to arrange a last minute fixture at Pilrig. A few clubs have been contacted and are on stand by just in case Pilrig survives the Saturday morning inspection. More news as we get it..

Here we go again....

A second week of torrential rainfall has put paid to this weekends fixture list with a large percentage of public parks deemed unplayable at senior and youth level, even junior 7s fixtures failed to beat the weather. However, Albions seniors are due play Salters in a a league fixture tomorrow at Pilrig. A late afternoon inspection today confirmed that there is a lot of surface water and that there is only a slight chance the park will be deemed playable. With no rain forecast this evening or tomorrow, there will be a second inspection tomorrow morning at 10am
